AIE is a Miami-Dade County Public Schools Charter and part of the suite of school choice offerings that the district offers to parents and students. The school offers academic rigor in grades K-12 including gifted classes, Dual Enrollment through FIU, and the AP Capstone Diploma Program. The school features a interscholastic sports programs in Elementary, Middle, and High School. High School sports teams compete as part of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA).
